Project Description
Because of a military base foreclosure in 1995, Charleston County saw the displacement of thousands of jobs. Fast forward 20 years, and the County knew it needed to more aggressively market the properties available on the military base in an effort to revitalize the economy and become more competitive in an already competitive state.
Along with conducting site selector and stakeholder research, Atlas developed a marketing strategy, an award-winning economic development website, a sites & buildings (GIS) database, and print advertising to tell a story of a place traditionally forward thinking. The purpose of the print advertising was to show the county and its board and funders the valuable, in-market message that Charleston County wanted to portray.
A new brand and position for the county, a new business identity, the relocation of Boeing to Charleston County, and an increase in website visits by 150%.
